What is a sworn (certified) translation, and when do I need one?

A sworn translation is certified by an officially recognized sworn translator — Norma Naboulsi, Sworn Translator in Lebanon — and sealed with an official stamp. It's required whenever a translated document must be accepted by courts, notaries, ministries, embassies or international institutions: contracts, judgments, diplomas, civil-status records and similar official documents.
